The Kcik(ass) Digital Marketing Blog // Here we focus on various ways how digital media helps brands engage with their customers, create awareness and generate sales.
“Once upon a time, there used to be company which had a huge marketing department…”
Oh yes, you read it right. Sooner or later this is how marketing case studies will start. Almost all companies are moving towards the era of Outsourcing. Its better, it is more cost effective and less hectic. Companies don’t have to spend days short listing, interviewing and hiring a good Marketing manager and other team members and then train them, so on and so forth.
Even Giant MNC’s are outsourcing their marketing needs. And when they do so, they have their hands full with brochures, options, quotes and promises. What should their take be when it comes to choosing someone to help with their Marketing needs? What are the key points that any company should keep in mind while deciding on a marketing partner?
The question that these companies ask themselves are “Why go for a dedicated agency and not give our social media efforts to an inexperienced low wage intern to voice the opinion of a company on social media.” So I have spent some time thinking about this and I realized:
A dedicated company is better at making incremental improvements in the services they already offer and creating new offerings as the market grows. Dedicated service providers keep themselves updated with the existing tools and techniques in the market and use them efficiently to gain leverage over others.
Since these dedicated agencies integrate with your company at each step of the campaign, they practically become a part of the team, even though they are off site or online. You can groom them and provide them with knowledge and feedbacks. It’s a mutual benefit as the company grows so does their services and in turn you receive the benefits.
All dedicated agencies follow a conduct that is usually missing in an intern. The profit margin escalation that can be achieved by using a dedicated agency cannot be compared with an intern. The cost of hiring a dedicated agency is slightly higher but the returns increase manifold.
A successful campaign increases awareness about your company and not the marketing agency. A well done ad creates more awareness about the service than the advertising company itself. So would you like to let your company’s brand loyalty to slip into the hands of an inexperienced intern or a player who has experience in this field?
The answer is pretty straight forward. A well established brand still has a chance of reviving from a badly done marketing campaign but a new startup doesn’t have enough capital (normally) to have a comeback from a badly done marketing campaign.

Choose wisely my friend.!
how useful is all that if people don't know about it? Market your self and your content via different channels, depending on your target segment. Identify the appropriate networks, blogs and forums and connect with people, let them know how great your service or product is. As the word gets out, inquiries will start pouring in and converting into customers.
Without taking much of your time, I'd write the relevant details. Kcik was born on 22nd July, 2012 or sometime before that as an experiment. Kshitij and I decided to do some work in the field of content writing for clients and see how it goes. Our first client, luckily was Wingify. They chose to get an article written, and in the end liked it. Soon, we bagged the QuizWorks corporate site project, and we had got a start in the world of entrepreneurship.
Then, we came up with the name Kcik. It took us quite some time to decide between 3 names, but eventually with the help of some friends and a poll on PollDaddy, we were able to zero in on Kcik. Bought the domain, and set up the site
This ain't the right time to really
judge how good we have been able to do in terms of our work. We're still young! It has been almost a month since we started unofficially, but our team has expanded quite rapidly. We have a team of 3 deveopers, a designer, Saurabh as our VP operations alongwith the two co-founders cum directors i.e. Kshitij and me.
We're excited with the work infront of us. There are plenty of deals to close, and many clients to service. We still aren't sure which model we'd focus on – an agency model or a product one. Only time will tell that. Although, we're sure of one thing – the work we do would be awesome and damn right creative! Also, as of now our focus is on the digital media space. In case you feel excited by it as much as Team Kcik does, then do write a mail to us. We'd love to connect!
